Hold the front page!

I read in the paper today that a Red Admiral butterfly was spotted in Hampshire, which is unusual and unseasonal and a result of the unusual, unseasonal mild weather.

Well, we spotted a Red Admiral butterfly on Sunday in Surrey.

Who should we tell?

Well, Jo, you've told me, so that's quite enough. ;-) (Ring The Times immediately!)

Ah! Well, we saw one last August in Yorkshire.

Does that count?

Here it is:

TRUE STORY....

While PETERLEE new town was being built in the early 50's a very very rare Argus Butterfly was discovered on land nearby, apparently the surrounding environment was perfect for this rare breed...... In good old North Eastern fashion the land was quickly bulldozed before any environmental do-gooders could get involved..... But that wasnt the end of the butterfly, a pub was erected on the site and named after the now homeless (and even rarer) butterfly.

Personally I wouldnt go near the pub, unless your looking for a cheap telly.
