Things to do in Addlestone when you're poor
In the interests of frugalness (or, more correctly, frugality) I am trying to think of fun, free-ish things to do with Thomas over the half term holiday. He, of course, would be happy to be playing Warhammer Online all week (which is, technically, free-ish, seeing as how it was a gift from my ex-employer). However, I've decided that I'm going to plan a week of activities and pretend to be a proper mum who does proper mum things. You know, outdoorsy, autumnal activities: kicking leaves, flying kites, carving pumpkins, etc.
Here are my ideas so far:-
- Kicking leaves
- Flying kites
- Carving pumpkins
- Creating a Hallowe'en costume
- Baking cakes and cookies
- A day at the seaside with a big bag of 2p pieces for the slot machines (many years of change-collecting means that the 2p pieces aren't a 'cost')
- Digging the garden and clearing up the weeds that the council should be clearing up
- Washing my car (surely we can make this fun!)
